The Harvard Classics, also known as “Dr. Eliot’s Five-Foot Shelf of Books,” is a renowned 50-volume anthology of classic literature, philosophy, and historical works. Compiled and edited by Harvard University President Charles W. Eliot, the first 25 volumes were published in 1909, followed by the remaining 25 in 1910.

This collection was curated to provide readers with a comprehensive liberal education through a selection of essential readings from Western literature and thought.

While most books are in good condition, there is some variation between volumes. These volumes not only serve as enriching literary resources but also add a touch of vintage elegance to any home library or study. Their classic design and historical significance make them ideal for both avid readers and collectors of antique books.

Please note that due to their age and the nature of vintage items, some wear is to be expected, adding to their authentic charm.
